Broad Peak is the 12th highest mountain in the world at 8,051 metres (26,401 ft) above sea level. The English name was introduced in 1892 by the British explorer Martin Conway but the local people called it “Falchan Kangri”. It has a summit over 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) long, thus "Broad Peak" it has has several summits: Broad Peak (8051 m), Rocky Summit (8028 m), Broad Peak Central (8011 m), Broad Peak North (7490 m), and Kharut Kangri (6942 m).  It is part of the Gasherbrum massif.

First attempt by Dr. Karl Herligkoffer in 1954, but the first ascent of Broad Peak was made between June 8 and 9, 1957 by Fritz Wintersteller, Marcus Schmuck, Kurt Diemberger, and Hermann Buhl of an Austrian expedition led by Marcus Schmuck.

Day 01

Arrive Islamabad.

Day 02

Briefing at Ministry of Tourism. Meeting with LO (Liaison Officer).

Day 03

Fly to Skardu (1 hr) or drive to Chilas.

Day 04

Day free at Skardu or drive Chilas – Skardu (8-10 hrs).

Day 05

Free Day at Skardu for final preparation

Day 06

Skardu – Askole (6-7 hrs)

Day 07

Trek to Jhula near Domardo River. (8-9 hours)

Day 08

Trek to Paiyu provides good views of Baltoro South, Cathedral Towers and triangle of K2 at far view (5-7 hrs)

Day 09

Day free at Paiyu for acclimatization (3600 m)

Day 10

Trek to Urdukus: To Khuburtze (8-9 hrs): A gradual climb up Baltoro Glacier on
The southern edge. The walk mostly along the crest of lateral moraine, with stunning views of Paiyu Peak, Chorichi, Uli Biaho, Trango Towers and so on. A good camp site at 4200 m

Day 11

Goro II: The first hour walk is across difficult side crevasses; however the way is
Smoother and easy in the center. Continue opposite of Yermanendo Glacier for 3-4 hrs to the camp site at 4500 meters pitched in the center of the glacier.

Day 12

Concordia: 5-6 hours slightly easy walk, with spectacular views and gigantic mountain panorama, including Mustagh Tower, GB IV, Mitre Peak and the mighty K2. Camp at Concordia at 4700 m

Day 13

4-5 hours trek to Shaghrin.

Day 14

4-5 hours trek to Gasherbrum II basecamp.

Day 15-39

Climb Gasherbrum II. No. of days depends on weather, fitness, and experience of the climbers

Day 40-46

Return to Askole or Hushe and drive to Skardu. In case of trek via Gondogoro number of trekking days can be lesser

Day 47

Fly to Islamabad or drive to Chilas

Day 48

Day free at Islamabad or drive to Islamabad

Day 49

De-briefing at the ministry of tourism

Day 50

Fly to destination.

Services included:

  1. Arrival & Departure: Airport – Hotel – Airport transfers (Pick Up and Drop off).
  2. Accommodation In Islamabad: 2 nights hotel at 4 star Hotel in Islamabad on bed & breakfast and Twin sharing basis.
  3. Welcome Dinner: One Welcome Dinner in tourist standard restaurant in Islamabad with Expedition Staffs.
  4. Cargo Clearance Assistance: Assistance to International Air cargo clearance of Member Personal Luggage, gears and equipment.
  5. Permit & Official Documentations: Application documentation with authorities for issuance of permit to climb the Peak.
  6. Royalty Fee Submission: Paying Expedition Royalty fee, on behalf of expedition members to the government of Pakistan.
  7. Briefing & Debriefing: Official briefing on arrival to Islamabad and debriefing after the expedition.
  8. Site Seeing: Local site seeing in Islamabad or surroundings, if time permits.
  9. Liaison Officer: 1 Liaison officer with full equipment, salary and accommodation.
  10. Garbage Management: Garbage fee Deposit to the relevant authorities.
  11. Insurance:  Insurance of all Expedition staffs during the expedition.
  12. Map: Trekking and climbing map.
  13. Member Transportation:
  • Domestic Flight: Flight for all members from Islamabad to Skardu & Skardu to Islamabad, as per Itinerary (dependent on weather).
  • Air conditioned land transportation from Islamabad to skardu & Skardu to Islamabad (in case of flight cancelation).
  • Land Transportation: 4x4 Jeep Skardu to Askole and on returning Askole to Skardu with all gears, logistics and staff.
  1. Accommodation in Chillas: 2 nights stay at Chilas, in case of flight cancellation to Skardu or Islamabad, on twin sharing basis, with full board.
  2. Accommodation in Skardu: 2 or 3 nights Hotel in Islamabad on Twin sharing basis Bed Room, with full board.
  1. Expedition Stuffs Transportation: All necessary equipment of the Member’s and Staff’s transportation from Islamabad- Skardu to Askole by bus / Jeep and to basecamp by Porters / Mule. While Returning: Basecamp to Askole by porters / Mule and Askole to Islamabad by bus / jeep.
  2. Member Luggage: Up to 50 Kg per member for personal baggage during the trek carrying by porters and 25 while way down.
  3. Food and Lodging: 3 times meals a day (Breakfast, Dinner and Lunch; including tea and coffee) along with accessible accommodation at Hotel/Lodge/Camp during the trek and Basecamp.
  4. Camping: All Necessary equipment for Camping during the trek.
  5. Porter: Porters per member up to Base camp from Askole & Porters while returning from Basecamp to Askole.
  6. Base Camp Staff: Experienced and well-trained Base camp Cook & kitchen Helpers as required.
  7. Staff wages and Allowance: All staffs & porters daily wages, salary, equipment, foods & clothing.
  8. Staff Insurance: All local staff (Guide, Cook, Helper and porters) will be insured for any loss or damage.
  9. Base Camp Tent: Each member will have individual tent in Base Camp.
  10. Base Camp Equipment:  All the necessary items, including kitchen, mess, toilet and sleeping tents, mattress, pillow, Tables, chairs & all necessary cooking gears.
  11. Heating System: Heater for base camp to facilitate members.
  12. Medical Kit: Necessary Medical kit for group members and staffs.
  13. Farewell Dinner: A farewell dinner will be given at Islamabad before departure to your homeland by us.
  14. Fees and Local Taxes: All Camping fees, road taxes & bridge crossing fees.
  15. International Flight Assistance: Full assistance for international ticket confirmation and reservations.
  16. Certificate: Climbing certificate issued by Pakistani Alpine Club (after climbing)
 

Service Exclusions:

 
  1. Pakistan Entry Visa fee: Pakistani Visa fee.
  2. International Flight: Members international flight tickets. 
  3. Climbing Gear: Any kind of gear related to climbing activity.
  4. High Altitude Belongings: High Altitude tents, foods and high altitude porters.
  5. Custom Charges: Any customs clearance charges on arrival of climbing gears.
  6. Oxygen and EPI: Oxygen cylinders and EPI gas for high altitude usage.
  7. Lunch & Dinner: Lunch & dinner, during the stay at Islamabad (also in case of early return from Trekking / Expedition than the scheduled itinerary).
  8. Room Services: Room service, gratuities for personal services or items of a purely personal nature.
  9. Extra night in Islamabad: Extra nights accommodation in Islamabad. In case of early arrival or late departure, early return from Trekking / Expedition (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary.
  10. Insurance: Travel and high altitude insurance, accident, medical & emergency evacuation.
  11. Cancellation: Trip cancellation Insurance and charges.
  12. Rescue Evacuation: Medical Insurance and emergency rescue evacuation cost if required. (Rescue, Repatriation, Medication, Medical Tests and Hospitalization costs.)
  13. Personal Expenses: Telephone, Internet, battery recharge, shower, Laundry, any Alcoholic beverages (during the trek and in Islamabad but we will serve all kinds of beverages for members in basecamp), and also Clothing, Packing Items or Bags, Personal Medical Kit, Personal Trekking /Climbing Gears.
  14. Any Unforeseen Expenses: Any unforeseen expenses (just like road blockage extra hotel stay or if members stay more days at Base Camp) then members will be pay according to the numbers of days basses. 
  15. Late or Early Arrival: climbing member will arrive together. If any/some member split during the arrival time/period then there extra expenses will be charged according to normal price.
  16. Filming: Special Filming, Camera and Drone permit and its fee (if required).
  17. Tips: Calculate some tips for Basecamp staffs. (minimum 300USD)
  18. Extra: Any other services or activities, which are not mentioned in the itinerary.
  19. Above Base Camp: All our services and staff are up to base camp only. No service above Base Camp will be provided.
  20. Any other item not listed in Cost Includes section.

Equipment List

Provided here with three lists of equipment for the expedition. (List 1) is for personal items and clothing. (List 2) contain climbing related gears and items. (List 3) contains optional items you may need during your expedition.

List 1 – Personnel Items and Clothing:

  • First Aid Pack (Diamox (Altitude), Dioralite (re-hydration salts), antiseptic cream, blister treatment, throat lozenges, plasters, Imodium (diarrhea treatment), painkillers)
